I snapped this photo while Cynthia and I were bicycling along the trail around Little Traverse Bay at the edge of Petoskey, MI. I have never been able to get this close to a crow (~25 feet) with a camera.

I figured out how to implement double buffering in Flash this morning, and this is the result: 500 particles, with transparency and a blur filter.
